Adam Bateson is a postdoctoral research assistant at the University of Reading, where he is using discrete element methods to research the fragmentation of sea ice floes. Adam began working with CPOM in 2016 when he started his PhD, also at the University of Reading. His PhD research was focused on modelling the sea ice floe size distribution and evaluating the impact of variable floe size on Arctic sea ice evolution.
Prior to his PhD, Adam completed a master’s degree in Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge.
