Amy Swiggs Joined CPOM in 2021 as a PhD student at the University of Leeds before moving to Northumbria in 2023. Within her research Amy uses satellites to study sea ice in the Arctic. Amy’s research primarily centres on regional variations in sea ice concentration and dynamics. Amy investigates the causes of these changes and how they will impact climate ecosystems and the economy. Amy also investigates the efficacy of satellite radar altimetry retrievals of sea ice. Amy has experience of ship and land-based field work campaigns in the arctic.
Amy completed her MSc (Res) in Polar Science at the University of Sheffield.
