Ben Palmer started as a Polar Data Scientist with CPOM at Northumbria University inOctober 2023. Ben supports CPOM’s Land Ice Earth Observation activities by helping maintain internal software and processing tools, as well as providing technical aid to fellow researchers and producing interactive visualisations. Ben’s work focus on satellite remote sensing and the surface elevation changes of the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets. Other areas of research he has experience in are machine learning and deep learning techniques, specialising in image processing and generative models.
Shortly before joining CPOM, Ben completed his MSc in Data Science at Northumbria University.
