Jake Aylmer is a post-doctoral research assistant at the University of Reading. His current research focuses on testing the hypothesis that climate models mismatch between rates of sea ice loss and Arctic warming is a consequence of inadequate physical representation of the modern Arctic Sea ice cover using new theory, modelling, and observational analysis.
Jake completed his MPhys in Physics at University of Oxford. He then went on to complete his PhD at the University of Reading. His PhD research included the development of a simplified energy-balance model used to investigate the factors underlying the relationship between ocean heat transport (OHT) and sea ice cover on multidecadal timescales.
