Areas of expertise: Digital Elevation Models; Grounding Lines; Supraglacial Lakes
Associated projects: 4DGreenland (ESA)
Laura Melling is a final-year PhD student at Lancaster University. Laura began working with CPOM in 2020. She is currently researching digital elevation modelling in the cryosphere, primarily focusing on grounding line modelling on the Greenland ice sheet and her previous work focused on comparing depth detection methods of supraglacial hydrological features.
Prior to undertaking her PhD, she gained her MSci in Natural Sciences at Lancaster University. Laura is also involved in outreach efforts at the university, teaching geographical concepts and skills to secondary school and sixth form pupils.
