Gianluca Bianchi is a PhD student in the school of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Cardiff University. Luca began working with CPOM in 2022. As part of his PhD, Luca is looking at surface meltwater on glaciers and developing a model which predicts the 2-D evolution of meltwater channels. Luca will apply this model to Antarctic and Greenlandic ice shelves so that we can better understand their stability.
In 2021 Luca completed his MS in Computational Applied Mathematics at The University of Edinburgh.
