Mal McMillan is a Professor in Earth Observation at Lancaster University and his area of expertise is in the development and use of novel satellite measurements to study Earth’s polar ice sheets. Mal joined CPOM in 2007 as a PhD student and has been at Lancaster University since 2018, where he is now a CPOM PI and Co-Director of Science. Mal is also Co-Director of the Lancaster-UKCEH Centre of Excellence in Environmental Data Science (CEEDS).
Mal completed his PhD in Satellite Geodesy at the University of Edinburgh. He went on to hold a postdoctoral researcher role at the University of Leeds before becoming an academic research fellow and an Associate Professor.
