Areas of expertise: Land Ice; Ice Sheets

Associated projects: ISMIP6; Terrafirma; OCEAN:ICE

Tony Payne is a professor of Earth, Ocean and Ecological Sciences at the University of Liverpool. Tony’s research focuses on understanding the past and contemporary behaviour of ice sheets and predicting their future change. This is done through the development and application numerical models of ice sheet mass budget and dynamics to predict sea level change.

Tony Completed his PhD at the University of Edinburgh with his thesis focusing on the modelling of former ice sheets.
