CPOM Principal Investigators
CPOM Principal Investigators (PIs) play a key role in internal review and forward planning for the CPOM science programme, ensuring successful delivery of CPOM science. All CPOM PIs are faculty staff members in UK universities and are experts in core CPOM competencies.
As members of the CPOM Principal Investigator Committee (C-PIC), they advise the CPOM National Capability Executive Group (C-NCEG) on the scope and direction of long-term National Capability (NC) CPOM science programme objectives, deliverables, and financial planning. They also make recommendations concerning the strategic priorities of the Centre and provide advice within their areas of expertise.
CPOM PIs oversee CPOM contributions to specific projects and/or are responsible for managing an area of research within overarching CPOM research themes. CPOM PIs also contribute to regular progress reports on our short-term and long-term priorities in collaboration with CPOM staff.
CPOM Associate Investigators
CPOM Associate Investigators are key collaborators who are engaged with our science programme and other activities, usually in faculty positions (or equivalent).
Associates are invited to annual science meetings (and other meetings as appropriate), included in internal communications, and encouraged to collaborate and engage with other CPOM members for mutual benefit.
CPOM Staff
CPOM Staff are directly funded by CPOM (full- or part-time) to contribute to the CPOM National Capability science programme.
CPOM Postdoctoral Researchers
CPOM Postdoctoral Researchers are usually funded by projects or programmes that are led by CPOM PIs or associated with the CPOM National Capability science programme. They usually work closely with or are supervised by CPOM PIs or Associates.
CPOM PhD Researchers
All CPOM students receive supervision from CPOM members and are working on projects that are closely aligned with the CPOM science programme or associated projects. While a few studentships are funded directly by CPOM, most of the students within the CPOM community are externally funded.
