Alicia Fallows

PhD Researcher
UCL

Areas of expertise: Sea Ice, Snow, Remote Sensing

Alicia Fallows is a PhD student at UCL. Alicia’s research looks at snow and sea ice interactions, focusing on snow flooding and snow ice formation. Alicia combines experiments in UCL Earth Sciences’ cold laboratories and computational modelling to study these phenomena and the changes in ice properties and surface ice growth, relevant for Antarctica and the Arctic under a changing climate. Alicia plans to look at the impact of snow ice on remote sensing as part of her research. Alicia has recent experience of ground-based fieldwork in the Arctic.

Alicia completed an MSt in Philosophy of Physics at the University of Oxford in 2020, and a BSc (Hons) in Physics at Heriot-Watt University in 2018.
