By collaborating closely with space agencies, CPOM used data from satellites to observe the dynamics of sea ice across the cryosphere, monitoring sea ice thickness, concentration and movement which contributes to our understanding of polar climate systems and their influence on the global climate.
We continue to develop our core capability in Sea Ice Earth observation, maintaining consistent earth observation data archives and develop CPOM cryosphere and altimetry software packages, as well as maintain and develop CPOM data portals for the dissemination and visualisation of CPOM cryosphere products and related information.
